Subsonus Tag contains a number of sensors and functionality that can be accessed during operation.

Orientation

Subsonus Tag calculates an instantaneous orientation by use of magnetometers and accelerometers, this orientation is accessible via acoustics on a Subsonus or via Bluetooth.

Magnetic Heading

Subsonus Tag calculates heading using built-in magnetometers. The heading is thus susceptible to magnetic interference by external sources.

In the event that the Subsonus Tag is mounted in the presence of a strong magnetic interference source (such as close to a motor or high current wiring) or will be operating in the vicinity of large ferrous materials that can distort the local magnetic field, magnetic heading error may fall outside the specified rage.

Magnetic Heading is accessible in service via the tracking Subsonus, or via Bluetooth at the surface.
